Brightlink’s HDMI Splitters allow you to take one HDMI source / input such as Blu Ray, DVD, Apple TV, Xbox, PC, and Split it to many HDTV displays / outputs with HDMI cables.
Essentially an HDMI Splitter is an HDMI Switch in reverse. An HDMI Splitter solves the problem of only having one HDMI source and needing to send that same source to many displays.
Typical HDMI Splitters are 1x2, 1x3, 1x4, 1x8 and 1x16. The first number being the amount of inputs or sources you can connect to the Splitter and the second number stands for the number of outputs you can send you HDMI signal to. If you see a number like 4x2, 4x4, or 8x8 this means that you are view a HDMI Matrix and not a standard HDMI Splitter.
HDMI Splitters are useful in home environments when you need a multiple screen set up as well they can be found in places that sell HDTV’s such as Bestbuy, Costco, Pawnshops, etc…
Most HDMI Splitters use HDMI cables for both the Input and Output and should not exceed 50ft in length. In cases where you need to go further distance we recommend our HDMI over Cat Splitters.
HDMI Splitters are easy to operate and are typically plug and play with only a power on/off button. So you simply connect all your devices to your HDMI Splitter, power everything on and you should now see your source on all your displays.
